USA's dominating performance proves why set pieces are so important!!!

I have always emphasized the importance of set pieces to my teams and watching todays USA vs Japan game, just solidifies why they are so crucial!!! It is amazing to me how professional club and national teams hardly every run set pieces let alone are able to execute a set piece. When teams are so close in talent and ability, set pieces, if executed properly,

You are right on the money. Any sport that doesn't use designed plays cannot execute efficiently throughout the entire contest. Argentina was a good example of not using many set pieces and losing.

Coach Tony for the U.S. girls put together some fantastic set pieces. Even one that didn't work was so well designed that Tobin Health ended up scoring the fifth goal for the U.S. after Morgan Brian grabbed the overshoot corner kick to Alex Morgan and passed the ball to Health.

Gotta love our girls! Congratulations Women's U.S. Soccer. Let's hope you've inspired the men for the upcoming Gold Cup!
